On my last hike......I decided to go "off" trail and do some exploring.
It was a bit more difficult than I expected, but I was rewarded as I stumbled onto an old logging camp.....perhaps 110 years old or more. No one's been there in a very long time and I am going back to do some still life photos.
I was a bit worried about the time (getting dark) and since I didn't know exactly where I was, I decided to find my way out. As I followed the creek (very, very difficult....no trail) I came across the tools in the picture below. Someone, maybe 50-70 years ago, put these tools down under the protection of some trees, (probably with the intention of returning).......but they never returned for reasons I will never know.....nonetheless....it was a striking find.....a moment in time, frozen....and only the holes, rust and age of the tools and the tin bucket had changed the original moment they were put there......very fun and thoughtful for me.
