Hey all, was gone for a while just wanted to give a quick update. I have been off the phen for about a month now, it helped me lose nearly 60 lbs in about 3.5 months, YAY!
The Dr. prescribed me Contrave, but I never got it. It seemed stupid to pay $45 for a month's worth of a small dose of antidepressant and something that negates the effects of alcohol and benzos. So, I'm on my own. Doing good so far but damn I do miss that phen feeling!
Anyways, I can def say with 100% guarantee it was the phen making the benzos not work very well. I took 2mg of xanax the other day for the 4th of July festivities and it knocked me on my ass! Like an idiot I had a couple beers, which I haven't drank in about 2 months, and yeah they weren't doing anything for the anxiety/panic/hyperventilating. So I took the xanax and learned the hard way there's a REASON they say don't drink when you are on benzos.
It didn't do any of the medical stuff like kill me or depress my breathing or any of that scary stuff. I mean DON'T DO IT because of how it makes you act and then you totally forget what you did when the next day comes around. No problem though my family was sure to tell me all about it! I passed out on the couch after asking people the last time they had been happy, like REALLY happy and was asking my gf why she smelled like popcorn over and over like a broken record (she was smoking a cigarette). And to top it all off I missed the local fireworks show because I had already passed out!
So now that phen is a thing of my past 1mg of xanax works like a charm when needed.
