RE: Daily Thoughts, Random Thoughts, Venting Area - BigGuy82 - 05-06-2017 “He who believes is strong; he who doubts is weak. Strong convictions precede great actions.” —Louisa May Alcott RE: Daily Thoughts, Random Thoughts, Venting Area - Furyan66 - 05-06-2017 Needed these guys before my 2 divorces nearly killed me.. LMAO RE: Daily Thoughts, Random Thoughts, Venting Area - Linville - 05-09-2017
RE: Daily Thoughts, Random Thoughts, Venting Area - reilli - 05-09-2017 Thank you to all you nice people who send words of encouragement when someone is feeling a little down. You never know how much your words might help pick someone up. RE: Daily Thoughts, Random Thoughts, Venting Area - mr nobody - 05-09-2017 A lot of these are cool quotes (loved the divorce one) was wondering if you post links (photos) music videos are you giving away too much personal info if it redirects you off the site? Bit of a blue day today-most of the time I seem OK if not I keep to myself and REALLY hate the "you were nicer/in a better mood yesterday". Honestly should buy/make a "don't disturb me today button" or a business card that just says "unmedicated-use caution" So tired of having to explain myself to some people. Anyway hope others are having a better go of it. RE: Daily Thoughts, Random Thoughts, Venting Area - reilli - 05-09-2017 I'm having a blah day too, seems to be something in the air. I hope your day gets better. RE: Daily Thoughts, Random Thoughts, Venting Area - dudcat - 05-12-2017 The Japanese Art of Kintsugi: Perfection Through Imperfection, Recognizing Beauty in Broken Things When something appears to be broken what do you do? Do you throw it away and replace it with something new? Or do you try to mend it together to form something different and beautiful? This is the underlying philosophy behind the Japanese pottery art of kintsugi. Instead of throwing away the broken pieces of a shattered jar or vase, the pieces are mended back together with gold lacquer. In Japanese philosophy there exists the idea of embracing the flawed or the imperfect. When kintsugi is used to mend together broken pottery, the cracks are highlighted, rather than hidden. This can be seen as a rationale for keeping an object around even after it has broken and as a justification of kintsugi itself, highlighting the cracks and repairs as simply an event in the life of an object rather than allowing its service to end at the time of its damage or breakage. The process usually results in something more beautiful than the original. The vicissitudes of existence over time, to which all humans are susceptible, could not be clearer than in the breaks, the knocks, and the shattering to which ceramic ware too is subject. In other words, the transformation is not just about putting the pieces of one’s broken life back together, it’s about a total reinvention of self in which our shattered pieces are alchemized into a beautiful, thriving masterpiece. -dc RE: Daily Thoughts, Random Thoughts, Venting Area - Furyan66 - 05-12-2017 Well whoever said when it rains it pours sure is right. Gonna vent a bit. Been a rough week keeping focused and anxiety down with my uncle passing last week but got some news today that has just put my mind into a racing mode and won't relax. Found out that over next 10 to 12 months my company that I have worked at 11 years is phasing out our entire department at our work will be phased out going to a third party vendor. Talk about an Anxiety spike!!!! Sure as hell did not see this coming Good news is we get decent severance package but for a middle aged person as myself with only associates degree, gonna be hard to start over. Companies all want at least those bachelors degree's or better to pay worth a damn. This Sux. Gotta relax and focus and come up with a plan here....
