Covid and Fluvoxamine
#1
I saw a piece on a News show ( 60 Minutes) about Fluvoxamine, an antidepressant which has been shown in a peer reviewed study published in the JAMA journal to prevent severe Covid disease, and I was totally flabbergasted.  I have been prescribed this medication for depression after several other medications didn't work well or had bad side effects and I have been taking it daily for more that 10 years.  Recently this 40 year old medication more than 20 years off patent, got so expensive that my insurance company didn't want to approve a refill, too expensive, another drug will do they said.  My physician told me he appealed the decision and provided more information.  I have been on this drug for more than 10 years and it is very effective with no adverse effects.  Now it appears that this drug prevents sever Covid that requires hospitalization or could result in death. Are they diverting the medication? I am still able to get it out of pocket for more than $100.00 a month but I think this is a situation where a pill that sold for $0.60 is now going for $3.00 plus. Is the  pharmaceutical industry really that corrupt?
Being kind to others costs nothing and enriches your life,
never forget how you felt when someone was once cruel to you,
we all have felt unloved at one time or another we should never want another to feel that way. Smile
