It involves a simple cheek swabbing. Then your DNA sample is mixed with many different AD's to see how they metabolize. Insurance companies have been fairly quick to cover it because they know that it saves them money in the long run. Medicare covers it 100%. It can save you so much trial and error. What people, including doctors, forget is that MDD is an emergency. Patients do not have the luxury of hanging out to see if something will work for them.
