I feel for you, CMDLINE. IMO, no other anxiolytic hits with the power of ALP. You can always feel it on the way in. I spent decades with undiagnosed panic disorder. Had it since I was an infant. Back in my day, they used to call it "fits". They thought I was having seizures. The term "panic disorder" hadn't even been coined yet. I suffer from "night terrors" and, without taking some ALP in he middle of the night, will always awaken in a state of high anxiety. The half life is so short, that if I had a dwindling supply...and I couldn't get myself some Clownz to supplement for now...I would save the brunt of my dose for overnight. In split dose. Yes, the second dose about 1-2 hours before rising. But everyone is different. For one thing, ovenight is the time when most people come closest to having an empty stomach and I have seen studies that says that ALP delivers 40%-60% more bioavailability on an empty stomach. It is certainly true in my case, and in hundreds of people who I have counseled about it. I almost feel like I am wasting a dose if I take it without an empty stomach. When I have stretch it, I absolutely make sure that every single dose I take is when empty. I know that isn't easy, but I think that it is the one reliable potentiator of ALP.
