I personally think that for long term anxiety clonazepam is far superior. I use it. Don't get me wrong I keep alps around for attacks and when clons just won't do it. But if you are experiencing prolonged or severe anxiety and have no benzo experience I would start with a small dose of clonazepam. If that works for you then you will be happier in the long run. With alps short half life if you are not careful you could find yourself in trouble before you realize it. JMO . But whatever treatment you choose be careful and try to keep dose as low as possible.
