Study: Tr@madol, not just for pain but for depression.
#10
Seeing as it is practically, 99% the same molecule as Effexor (valenfaxine), which does not have mu opioid receptor activity while its extremely close chemical brother is indeed Tramadol. Now as for how good that Tramadol is also an SNRI....that's a very different thing.

I noticed in the forum I have mods on, that's similar to this, but different in major ways (can't talk about sources at all), that since it was unleashed, the US, UK, Aussies, South Africans all tell me that Tramadol is very much used there.

Here in Canada...no, either there was too many bad reactions with people already on antidepressants that Health Canada took notice of the doctors not understanding what was going on...I don't know outside the US and Canada, but GP's or ER doctors are not very good in Pharmacology, they have to take 2-3 classes for that and that's all, I out-logic some doctors at the ER sometimes and boy do they hate it at the moment, but then respect you more and ask you what have you studied and what university. Hah.

But yes, Tramadol, well it's, no pure Tramadol IR pills. Tramacet is very rarely scripted here, they'll go with Empracets or pure codeine pills if you take tylenol a lot already. Once I got a script for it and I felt the "lowering of seizure threshold", was out of benzos, felt really strange, walked to the ER in a snowstorm which is 25 minutes away from where I lived (near campus) to tell the poor ER doc who had nothing to do with this how pissed off I was that the woman who was working his shift before him (who gave me what I asked for, I wanted to try it as I "heard it was a new less addictive painkiller)...that was circa 2007, it was newish in Canada, I know it was in the US back in 2000 or even before. Mostly as just Ultram and Ultracet as you call it. We got Tramacet and they just approved, after about 3-4 attempts to have the US XR version of tramadol accepted here, another company had to invent a whole new pill and it's Zytram XL...never saw or taken it, but you'd have to hold a gun to my head for me to take a Zytram XL, especially a long duration one. I would be seizing away for sure, like how Effexor made me feel so strange, at the starting dose of Effexor XR 37.5mg, extreme nausea, pupils like if I did LSD/mushrooms.

So here we decided to stick with good old codeine for a basic more-than-an-nsaid, we're the only country with CodeineContins too.
