Study: Tr@madol, not just for pain but for depression.
#4
Hi Colton,

I have a similar experience to you. Tramadol for pain, but then found it brightened my mood. Been able to hold down a very stressful and demanding job, in part thanks to tramadol. I have a prescription, but it isn't enough so have to top up from elsewhere. Anyway, interesting article you found there (and so nice when you can read a whole journal article, rather than just the abstract and then hitting the paywall).

Venlafaxine is antidepressant (SNRI) that has many similarities with tramadol. Can you get that prescribed for the depression/anxiety, even if it doesn't do anything for pain?

In the interests of safety, I should point out that tramadol can cause seizures especially at higher doses, among those with a low seizure threshold, or in combination with certain other medications. Be safe.

Best wishes,
barq
