I top in veg, if they are in flower I bend down the growing tops and tie them down. You want your plants to be under 36" at maturity because the light will not penetrate farther than that and you get the bottom bare or full of useless junk if you let them get tall.

Bending and messing with the stems does make them stronger. One way to do it is have a fan always blowing on them, and gently bend the branches from time to time to make them stiffer.

If the dea reclassifies pot then maybe it will be the end of swat team raids for a harmless plant?
