Suboxone dosage vs oXY tolerance,
#2
The way we treat our veterans and pain patients in general is just deplorable.

Bupe is a partial agonist, not a full agonist like what he is used to. Not great for pain management. Only useful for staving off withdrawals. There is no sure-fire way to know the equivalency. What I find strange is your comment that the Dr. is prescribing him to take 1/4 of a film every few hours. This is ridiculous when Bupe has a 37.5 hour half-life. Common practice is to take the full dose once a day.

I would never recommend this for any other situation, but look into a Methadone clinic for your dad. Methadone will help with pain and most of these clinics will prescribe whatever as long as they get paid. They will have funky rules but the relief may be worth it.

Sending out a prayer for your dad and family!
