Point Break
#1
One of the greatest movies ever made not to mention a cult classic.  Keanu's horrible acting complemented Patrick Swayze's character to perfection.  Keanu is a horrible actor but he is

excellent in this.  Patrick swayze is amazing and skydive's 55 times for this movie and it's really him skydiving in this movie.  Kathryn Bigelow did this movie as well as zero dark thirty.  She is

amazing.  I have not seen the now one  although I want to.  Wont be near as good but the guy who directed/produced/whatever said he wasnt trying to beat the original.  He just wanted

to do a fun movie off of a great movie. Remember the keanu swayze chase seen?  One of greatest chase scenes in cinematic history.  For those who don't know what I'm talking about

watch the original (made in 1990 i think) first.  F

For those who have seen this please chime in with opinions, comments, thoughts, perspectives, favorite parts, etc.

I always like to see who the underground crowd of point break fanatics are.

I don't know of anyone who has not seen that movie at least once. Patrick Swayze was just as cool off screen as on, and was never been shy in sharing his thoughts publicly. The man had a following and compasion therein.
I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing a new rendition of point break!
Would hope Hollywood would do the old guys justice, as the modern musicians certainly have done a fine job of showing pride for they’re mentors!
I don't know about you, but I have about had it with some of the new "explicit" movies where they spend 40% of the show grinding under the sheets in some weird R rated fashion, lol. I kind of like to see the heads roll! Smile

Sorry Teddy, not exactly what I wanted to post, but after the server finished freaking out I felt pretty damned fortunate it posted at all, thankful I had something saved on notepad, sorry about the formating, lol. Of coarse my 10mins was up too, lmao. Goodnight...

The original was critiqued 25 yrs ago and was about 4 stars if I remember correctly, not that I give much attention to them snobs. The new one, apparently not so good, but I will still watch it to see for myself.

Some people live in negativity and dwell on it to the point they cannot accept the possibility of anything being new and improved.

Good morning FirePlaces!

I won't sub to this thread, I can already see the precursors to a heated discussion that might possibly last all day. I don't have time to be unproductive today. Have a nice day!

has hollywood really run out of ALL ideas?

The remake was unwatchable. Instead of a story, it was all extreme sports action. It was like Vin Diesel's XXX only ten times worse. I knew going in it wasn't going to be great, but I had no idea it was going to be that bad.

Patrick Swayze must be spinning in his grave

Hi Audrey and forme.  ;-)

I'm still learning the "how's" of this forum and I apologize for hijacking this thread, but I wanted to say hi to my good friend fireplaces.  You know me from other places and I'll shoot you an email to let you know who I am.  I can't send PM's quite yet and haven't figured out if we can tag someone in a post.

Like @fireplaces I don't know if that would tag my old friend.
