CCleaner AKA (Crap Cleaner) AND Malwarebytes are very good. Always cocked and ready for use on my builds.
A basic check for folks using Windoze 7-10, to see if your puter is running optimally:
1) Navigate to 'Task Manager'/'Performance' (SHORTCUT KEYS: 'Cntrl,Alt,Delete' >Select 'Control Panel'> Select 'Performance')
In the performance window check CPU and RAM usage.
CPU usage should hover between 1 & 3 percent when system is IDLE. Meaning all browsers and programs shut down. Restart to kill processes and flush RAM, then recheck if computer has been on for over a day.
RAM usage for windoze 10 can be pretty high and continually creep with default settings. One tweak and usage will drop substantially and remain.
For example, my Win10 install at idle: CPU usage steady at 1%. RAM usage at 1.6GB.
'system idle process' is usually the culprit for high CPU usage for myself and most others. The process is used by windows to search for updates and can take minutes to hours.
There's a slew of other culprits depending on how your Operating System was installed. Consumer Desk tops and Laptops are notorious for 'Bloatware'. HP is one of the worse offenders among many.
