If there was any reason why the msg function is deactivated or unavailable to those with less than xx amount of posts? I noticed that other members can contact me, however I cannot reply. There is a report button so I wondering why it was unavailable for everyone.

That actually sumed it up fairly well... The more you post... The more we get to know you and the more privileges you recieve... The ones that don't feel the need to post, don't deserve the same as the members that are trying to make a difference....
Hang in there, you'll be there in no time... Ice

When you have the PM ability, especially as a new person here, the wolves in sheep's clothing will all "try to help you."
They all have a killer source. We have seen this so many times. Even three high ranking members were tossed for sneaking in sites to members that we have not approved. (Everyone will feel like Dog Meat if u decide to go with a site on our forum, and, u get scammed. Real friends will only share with you the tried, true and trusted sites.) Further, I get many PMs a day. Quite a few. If all the new people could PM me, as I used to allow, I shall be inundated by How To Requests, which all one needs to do is read, read and read some more and find their own answer. We don't want so called hidden vendors Pming you members. Or, you members PMing other new members. We only allow certain IOPs and emails and SY vendors. Because we have so much feedback on them. I, for one, don't want to see that u PM'd someone sleazy and are now out a couple hundred dollars. Ice is right. Through the usage of achieving fifty posts before you can PM, we, the forum, get to know you, somewhat. We are more likely to share. To help. You can do fifty. I have faith in you. These are one compiliation of our rules. Had you read them, you would have instantly seen the reason for the Fifty Post Requirement. Try starting with rules. It is Well with My Soul

Admin and the community here are so helpful you can certainly get by without PMing until post count is reached. You are part of a great community that has each others back.
The post count required for many capabilities is quite low in my opinion. Admin and mods here work hard and do what they can to keep us all happy and safe. Thanks to all on the site.

I am in the same position, I have pm, but cannot reply. The forum is a great place to be and you can interact and learn so much just by posting to threads and talking with other members. Working up to 50 posts allows the community to know you, to safeguard its self, as well as safeguard you against those that the moderators have explained about. Great place to be and great members. Reaching 50 posts should be pretty easy especially if you are engaging somewhat regularly. I hope you find this place as great as so many of us members, new and old, do.

50 posts seems like a fair number, any less and they could LE or just here to use once and not give back to the community
