rent was very impt to those of us in NY whom were dealing with concerns of AIDS.
I was gonna give up becoming a lawyer to care for these people. My Hairdresser was one of the first. I am good at caregiving. But i asked 3 pastors and was told: God wants you to continue becoming a lawyer.
But its worth tracking down and watching. Many of u are too young to know what all went down.

Yes, Rent was a big thing in London too.
You are a good person for helping out. So many turned their backs.
The recent Channel 4 drama "It's a Sin" captured a lot of that period. It starts quite gently, but I couldn't watch the end because it was too close to people I knew. It was made by Russell T Davies who reinvented "Doctor Who", so it's very well written.

we were a very open generation and to hear all the horrors our friends and i could experience must have made many hearts care.
it was all good how we lived until it suddenly wasn't. and one got very few clues on picking a partner.
I salute all those whom fell to that illness. HOld them in the palm of you hand Lord. They suffered enuff.
