RE: The Music Thread - Linville - 07-30-2017
Never grow tire of the great Stevie Nicks.
and her classic, Rhiannon
.
Rhiannon rings like a bell through the night
And wouldn't you love to love her?
Takes through the sky like a bird in flight
And who will be her lover?
All your life you've never seen a woman
Taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised you Heaven?
Will you ever win?
She is like a cat in the dark
And then she is the darkness
She rules her life like a fine skylark
And when the sky is starless
All your life you've never seen a woman
Taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised you Heaven?
Will you ever win? Will you ever win?
Rhiannon
Rhiannon
Rhiannon
Rhiannon
She rings like a bell through the night
And wouldn't you love to love her?
She was alive like a bird in flight
And who will be her lover?
All your life you've never seen a woman
Taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised you Heaven?
Will you ever win? Will you ever win?
Rhiannon
Rhiannon
Rhiannon
Taken by, taken by the sky
Taken by, taken by the sky
Taken by, taken by the sky
Dreams unwind
Love's a state of mind
Dreams unwind
Love's a state of mind

And wasn't this their last one together?....Hmmm maybe?

and it is a heart tugger for me.
One My best friends growing up who died last year had this played at his wake.
It really got to me, thinking as it played listening to the words.
Well so it goes, this song .......

Linville,
I think you and I share an eclectic taste in music. Different genres from different decades. We seem to know what we like and have a real love and appreciation for music. Loved all of the videos you posted this morning. Nicely done, my friend.

Linville,
Forgot to mention that Rhiannon is one of my faves. Stevie Nicks is the best! I have had 2 of her songs in my head for the past 2 weeks. The first with Fleetwood Mac and the second one I think I picked up after watching the documentary the Defiant Ones about Jimmy Iovine and Dr, Dre a week or so ago.
Oops! Reverse those 2 videos. Stop Draggin My Heart Around was the one featured in the documentary.

Love both of these songs, they bring back such good memories. REO Speedwagon was formed in the same town where I went to college. I remember as a kid my parents taking my brother and I to see them at Fairs in Illinois. Obviously, that was before High Fidelity. Nice selections!

Muzicatty, I love Stevie, several of her songs are simply magical. Her voice is so unique.
She has survived too, so she has to be very smart, ya know. She has had true heartbreak in her life so she can sing from the heart so very well. Love her.
Like both you posted very much. She became good friends with Tom Petty and there is some magic in that tune. For sure.
But Dreams, will last forever in the very top . I have read about the group chemistry and I feel it was the driving factor in a lot of songs , could never be duplicated, dont think.
Anyway thanks for posting .

I've been holding out so long
I've been sleeping all alone
Lord I miss you
I've been hanging on the phone
I've been sleeping all alone
I want to kiss you
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh
Well, I've been haunted in my sleep
You've been starring in my dreams
Lord I miss you
I've been waiting in the hall
Been waiting on your call
When the phone rings
It's just some friends of mine that say,
"Hey, what's the matter man?
We're gonna come around at twelve
With some Puerto Rican girls that are just dyin' to meet you.
We're gonna bring a case of wine
Hey, let's go mess and fool around
You know, like we used to"
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah
Oh everybody waits so long
Oh baby why you wait so long
Won't you come on! Come on!
I've been walking in Central Park
Singing after dark, for 58 blocks
People think I'm crazy
I've been stumbling on my feet
Shuffling through the street
Asking people, "What's the matter with you boy?"
Sometimes I want to say to myself
Sometimes I say
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
I won't miss you child
I guess I'm lying to myself
It's just you and no one else
Lord I won't miss you child
You've been blotting out my mind
Fooling on my time
No, I won't miss you, baby, yeah
Lord, I miss you child
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah
Lord, I miss you child
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah
Lord, I miss you child
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah
