We have the common love of singers that can do great harmonies, eh? Always on the prowl to find them...Those Great Voices that can do harmonies ! DW, I Sincerely hope your day gets better, friend ! One time, I think it was, Roses mentioned, ( maybe not ) that you liked this, so here ya go. A Gathering Of Angels Appeared Above My Head They Sang To Me This Song Of Hope RE: The Music Thread - Dancing Wolf - 04-25-2017 For LINVILLE We explored Fleet Foxes together ![]() This song's words have always seemed to be Mine, as if John Miles stole my thoughts/song But his voice lacks something IMHO.... I wish someone else would give it a try and really do it justice vocally. Found this video (cool graphics) It's instrumental.... well worth watching for pics/music Read lyrics below.... You will know my first love since I could talk, I sang..... This is almost like viewing my soul.... LYRICS: Music was my first love And it will be my last. Music of the future, And music of the past. To live without my music Would be impossible to do. In this world of troubles, My music pulls me through. (instruments) Music was my first love And it will be last. Music of the future And music of the past And music of the past And music of the past. (Instruments) Music was my first love And it will be my last. Music of the future, And music of the past. To live without my music Would be impossible to do In this world of troubles My music pulls me through -------------------------------------------------------------------- Song was released in 1976 - seems Miles came quite a way during that time Here's regular video with his vocals (and an orchestra). darn messed up lyrics and can't edit first video.....
RE: The Music Thread - Linville - 04-25-2017 Thank you Dancing Wolf.
RE: The Music Thread - Charon - 04-25-2017 Lyrics Remember when you ran away And I got on my knees And begged you not to leave Because I'd go beserk Well you left me anyhow And then the days got worse and worse And now you see I've gone Completely out of my mind And they're coming to take me away ha-haaa They're coming to take me away ho-ho hee-hee ha-haaa To the funny farm Where life is beautiful all the time And I'll be happy to see those nice young men In their clean white coats And they're coming to take me away ha-haaa You thought it was a joke And so you laughed You laughed when I said That losing you would make me flip my lid Right? You know you laughed I heard you laugh, you laughed You laughed and laughed and then you left But now you know I'm utterly mad And they're coming to take me away ha-haaa They're coming to take me away ho-ho hee-hee ha-haaa To the happy home with trees and flowers and chirping birds And basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes And they're coming to take me away ha-haaa I cooked your food I cleaned your house And this is how you pay me back For all my kind unselfish, loving deeds Ha! Well you just wait They'll find you yet and when they do They'll put you in the A.S.P.C.A. You mangy mutt And they're coming to take me away ha-haaa They're coming to take me away ha-haaa ho-ho hee-hee To the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time And I'll be happy to see those nice young men In their clean white coats And they're coming to take me away To the happy home with trees and flowers and chirping birds And basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes And they're coming to take me away ha-haaa! Songwriters: Jerry Samuels They're Coming To Take Me Away lyrics © Music Sales Corporation Artist: Napoleon XIV Album: They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa! Released: 1966 Genres: Rock, Country Other recordings of this song They're Coming to Take Me Away Butcher Babies · 2014 They're Coming to Take Me Away Neuroticfish · 2005 Take Me Away Brighter Death Now · 2005 More about They're Coming To Take Me Away RE: The Music Thread - Charon - 04-25-2017 Phil ochs did the only song dedicated to kitty genovese, a girl killed viciously in NYC whilst something like 300 people sat in their apts hearing her be killed and not one called the police. they could have saved her. the predator raped her and returned to kill her after half hour. One call to the police, and she would have lived. But, no one wanted to get involved. I may have thrown in a depression song. I did a thesis on it. The unions. We were union organizers in the coal mines of ireland and had to get to US fast. We were not appreciated, let us say. I interviewed the people and I read, and I studied all the music. Carry on. I gotta get out emotions via music sometimes & only on here can i save music. sorry. RE: The Music Thread - Linville - 04-26-2017 Interesting Charon. Good song set. . and in contrast, Ive always liked this one. . |
