RE: How else do we manage? - mr nobody - 05-04-2017 Without low dose meds I could not manage. However-any hobby or new interest from baking to dancing will help, at least in my experience. Personally (swmming, walking and if I am lucky something else) do help. Skydiving-I would love to it is on my bucket list...probably need a shot in arm first

Haven't worked it since my move and I've been all messed up adjusting. Just low energy and anxious etc... gonna be proactive today. RE: How else do we manage? - Furyan66 - 05-05-2017 We all find our own way to manage with our outer and inner pain. I have been skydiving back in the 90's. Am part of Generation X so not to many extreme things I did not try. I still personally love to get out and play a couple games of Paintball. Helps relieve the stress. Been playing since the 80's. Used to be on championship team in younger years and was actually sponsored and got paid to play (those were the days). Awesome game. My body don't allow that anymore. One or 2 games and I am a recovering for a week or longer. Its one of the things I enjoy most and helps especially with good memories... Sometimes you manage day to day Sometimes you manage hour to hour and sometimes its minute to minute on bad days.. But we all manage in our own ways Peace All..... RE: How else do we manage? - barq2 - 05-06-2017 I totally agree with all the comments about physical activities. I was never into BMX, but was quite a good mountain biker until a bad crash Anyway, I got into photography. I find it forces me to go out which is good if I'm in a low mood. Even if I'm only doing street photography, it still means I'm doing something for a few hours. It can also start interactions with total strangers. Most people are genuinely interested in what I'm up to, and it is nice to get that social connection that wouldn't happen otherwise. It is best when I go on a mission to get a particular photo and plan how I'm going to achieve it. I'm certainly not the best photographer, but I am good at getting access to things/places. Two real highlights were photographing a bank vault, and being inside Stonehenge at dawn. In a sense it could be any artistic project. I'm sure painting or writing could be just as therapeutic (and probably cheaper!). I think the real challenge is finding the motivation to start, which is obviously hard you are feeling low. To some extent I find that if I publicly commit myself to doing something, I'm more likely to follow through. |
