anyone have a knowledge of cats?

i have a semi feral. his right ear is itching him. seems to be oozing a water like liquid.

I see chewy has some non prescription ear washes i could purchase.

I cannot afford a vet. And whereas he is gentle with me, he aint gentle with all.

Do any of u think i should try an ear cleaner? If it were mites, wouldn't both ears bother him?

Just asking. Gonna do some research. Just cuz chewy has some liquid meds for cats.

And then God help me getting it into Harry's ears.

Thank u Ice. We don't think it is mites but if the two products i ordered to cleanse his ears out dont help, then i get the ear mites product.

Charon, my previous cat had a greenish gunk and what appeared to be mites in his ears. When they scratch them, they probably have them. They do that stance you’ll recognize as they thump thump thump and scratch them. 

Mine had no contact with cats but did catch a wild rabbit. I used these. I squeezed them out first so they wouldn’t be soaking wet. Then turned them into a twist and put it in his ear and swirled it around gently.

He was not thrilled but I did it in each ear until the pads came out clean.

Funny thing is, it was recommended to me to get the ones for dogs! I don’t remember why!

I just know these worked. No more mites, or gunk.

I see you found something. That’s great. Amazon has so many, that you don’t need to pay a vet. Yes there are WONDERFUL vets out there. But a lot of them charge as much as they can get away with. And if a vet won’t tell you what to use if you can’t afford “their” products, it’s time to find another vet.

Well my semi feral has not been to a vet. I cannot afford a dr for me, and not one for him either.

This is taking such a serious turn in our country.

My barn cats get into all sorts of things. My big orange dude seems to be a magnet for ear problems. The last time he had ear mites, a fungal infection & bacterial infection at the same time! We treated the mites with Revolution flea & tick topical treatment. It’s a once a month topical that we did for 2 months. We used a liquid called CeraSoothe Antiseptic Flush for the fungal & bacterial infections. Their ears were clear in a few days.

i put the flea thingie on him. and have medicine i purchased. must have helped cuz he rarely scratches his ear. the houseshare does more than the cat.
