Has anyone gotten these very annoying solicitations from call centers overseas, I think India mostly I am unsure. I am sure they are scams
so I tell them no thanks and quickly hang up. They tell me " You previously ordered from our pharmacy this medication or that medication" I am suspicious that
My past dealings with IOPs may have resulted in my name and telephone number being sold and resold. They know at least my first name and they seem to know what I may have ordered online?? Anyone else?

Oh Tiger it is most common what you describe. When a IOP shuts down within the priority list is to sell customer info to the new buyer or other ventors . Especially the good customers get a lot of annoying calls. And there is not an easy way to get rid of them other than becoming rud. My problem is that personal data are not safe with some of these guys. I do not feel safe knowing my contact details come and go between IOPs . After all it is dangerous and it might end in the wrong hands.

This ends up happening when you sign up for india mart and websites related to them. You never use your real number with them. If you do your just asking to get calls. Plus it's not like their calling you with a deal either. They are typically 50-75% higher than a y other sources. So I could do without the calls in my life. Just waiting for the day they call and the price is too good to be true. I am not holding my breath though.

I never give my real phone number to IOP's. What would they have to say to me that can not be said in an email? There was I think an Airmail group that used to require a phone call but I don't even know if they exist anymore. They were legit back in the day.

Yes, once your number is registered on any of these Indian sites, watch out! I used to get tons of calls daily from these scammers and had to keep blocking different phone numbers until they got the hint and it all stopped. The issue is, we have to give our telephone number out on many sites to be able to register properly.

I agree with the posters above, never give out your real number. There have been some IOPs who 'require you to provide a telephone number for order verification' but the vast majority of these are scam pharmacies or at the very best just using it as an excuse to sell your info. Also it is useful to use a spare email address when signing up to overseas pharmacies to easily avoid any junk they send.

Back in land line days, I'd get lots of calls from fellas overseas. And I never gave out true number to anybody, ever. Nowadays I just don't answer anyone whose number I don't know (leaves some companies unhappy with me, but can always leave a message if they really need me)

burner phones are the answer. net10 at walmart i think they are called. they cost about ten dollars. and u pay by the month depending on how many minutes u want.
because the DO not Call List never did work, did it?
Unfortunately, i gave up my phone number to a housing group that i planned to use for moving. Just a month ago. And now, about every fifteen minutes, i see i got 183 voicemails. I just hit ignore. I aint paying a dollar to read each piece of spam.
But, as i made the mistake and the housing group gave up my number, I guess i have to change it again.
One can also pay a tad bit more for a smart phone thru the same plan. It does not connect to ur wireless.
It is really unconscionable that our phone numbers and all are sold for profit. May each of them get 10,000 spam phone calls tonight, I say in my loving christian fashion. Teach them a lesson for once.
