I am not sure It's exactly against the law but primary care providers are all scared to pull out the pad and write a pain medication script.
I had back problems for years and my orthopedic surgeon told me I was "engaging in drug seeking behavior" I told him damn right I wanted something for the pain,
I was taking prescribed opioid pain meds for more than 2 years, OMG it wa horrible. The pain, the depression and the constipation.
Finally I found a good surgeon who operated on me and after 2 months I was pain free, totally. I was one of those success stories I suppose, I have heard all those stories about surgeries gone wrong and people ending up in worse shape and in worse pain that when they started.
I haven't had a pain pill in several years, wouldn't want one, wasn't "hooked" or addicted just in real horrible pain.
Yes there are addicts and those who are only seeking to get high but it seems that the medical profession has been scared by the DEA,
and it is a shame.
