I wanted to offer this thread and my prayers to anyone in need.  I put this thread up on another forum, and it seemed to be a positive force in a sometimes-hostile world.

Feel free to join in, and if not, that's ok too -- I will try to keep the thread going on my own!

I have to tell you a story of God working in my life.  Last month, I was shopping in a women's clothing store, and I met a lady pastor of a neighboring church.  We got to talking, and she prayed for me and my husband.  She encouraged me to contact her on Facebook, which I did.  I never heard back, so I didn't pursue it further.

Today, I had a lot of clothes to return/exchange at the same store.  I wanted to go in the middle of the day when it wouldn't be as busy.  However, my husband kept dragging, and then I did, etc. We didn't get to the store till almost 3 PM.

Guess who stopped in to pay her bill!! Yes, the lady pastor

She had put a block on FB because of some harassment, but we added each other right there in the store.  She said on her way to the store, she had been thinking about me and praying for me.

I am going to a women's Bible study group there on Saturday morning. So excited!!!

Often, I post from my smartphone, using Google Voice for taking dictation.

It helps me post when I don't feel like typing.

@Shayna, I believe you are open to all forms of prayer and I find this one especially useful: "Om Namah Shivaya" (Sanskrit), which translates to be to be a powerful healing mantra beneficial for all physical and mental ailments. Soulful recitation of this mantra brings peace to the heart and joy to the [Ātman] or Soul.

Caróg liath - I am open to all types of prayer. Myself, I was raised as a Jewish Conservative. I became disillusioned in my 20s and became a Christian when I was 33 -- the same age that Christ was crucified.

Still, I often find it hard to relate to some Christians who do not follow the path or set a good example. It pains me to see this out in the world, and have people associate me with their deeds. I remember one job I had, someone new in my department confessed to me, that she was leery of me because she heard I was a Christian. Then, she got to know me and really liked me, and it surprised her that she could like "one of those Christians".

I encourage ** everyone ** to post their prayer needs here -- I will pray how I choose and so can everyone else.

There's no need for discrimination of any faith (in my opinion). It's all the same in the end.
