Hello and welcome, Furyan66!
Yes, life and those curve balls! Sometimes I feel like I'm playing the old game "dodge ball", I'm the target, and there are kids with balls to throw at me, yet no basketballs or those rust colored rubber balls the school had back when I was a kid. What they have instead are balls made of metal! And just when I think "Phew! Finally the game is over!" more kids show up.
You will find that this is a very well-managed forum, and that there are so many wonderful members always willing to help.
The rules are the most important thing. Even long term members read them again and again, often before they post. I too, read them again and again.
Also, my known mantra on here is "READ! READ! READ!"
You will learn more by reading, than asking questions. I am not saying you cannot ask a question, but most can be answered by reading as much as you can on here. Even threads that don't seem like they will interest you. In that very thread, you may often find an answer to a question you had, or find out about something you had been worried about, etc. This has happened to me so many, many times! I am still reading threads.
Since you have been lurking, I am sure you have been reading. Read as much as you can. Whenever you are on the forum, read, read, read. That is something that will serve you VERY well on this forum.
Trust me: The more you read on here, the more you learn, and the more you'll find answers to your questions. Even questions you think you'll never be able to figure out the answer to. And you'll find your answers to those questions without ever even having to ask.
I remember when I first joined I'd be reading and I had so many questions and I'd be thinking "WHATTTTT?" and "I just don't get it!" "How...?" And "What does this person mean?"
So I read. And read. And then re-read. Often from start to finish on a certain thread. And many times the answer I was seeking was on the first page of the thread, yet I had missed it, until I went through the thread again, reading all of it.
Welcome again and glad to have you here!
Abigail

welcome. but i gotta say it. having been at all the other forums for more years than u can imagine, there is no place on earth like this forum.
we are ethical. we take no money nor meds. i do this as a ministry before God. as i am now disabled.
my mods give so much time and love because we are family. they are just great people.
welcome to the family.
but, we are like no other forum that went on before.
i would know. i was at most of them. i bet we spoke. well, welcome back. the online world has become filled with treachery and uncertainty. so we need a tight family community to share the news. protect each other. and, our vendors.
its such a different world. until u know more, beware of anyone that PMs u now. Just sayin.

You are quite welcome, Furyan66!
I remember when I posted for the first time. I was scared to death! I was afraid I'd break the rules! HA! But, better to be afraid and say less, than to plunge in and say too much.
Also, I wanted to help you by telling you what helped me the most. And while you are probably now sick to death of the sight of this word, what helped me the very most, was...READING!
I joined last year and I'm still not "caught up." But don't tell anyone I said that, okay?
You'll do great here. Things have changed A LOT over the last 10 years, but you'll find what you need here. And the staff and so many of the members are AWESOME!
Signed,
Abigail's Used Book Store
P.S. Also, just to let you know, Charon's knowledge and advice is always priceless. Value it like you would your most dreamed of possession. She's also read every single book in Abigail's Used Book Store. She reads not just old books which have given her so much of her precious knowledge, she also reads new books. She's read every book in every library and book store there is.
Seriously now, THAT is how much knowledge Charon has about these forums, etc.

Wellcome Furyan . This ship is like no other ship. The captain Charon knows best to avoid rough seas and the always offers the best harbor to the crew. The officers ( mods ) are experienced and well trained so you don't have to worry about pirates or sea monsters . You will feel safe and find peace on this ship. You will enjoy the company of other friends as well. Find your cabin relax and read . Everything is in frond of your eyes and with little patience you will find what you need.

Thanks nickolyko, Abigale and Charon for the warm welcome and the advice. Still trying to catch up on all the reading. Charon I have read quite a few or your posts (will get to em all eventually) and appreciate your straightforwardness and it would not surprise me if we had crossed paths on some other Forum in the past..
Thanks Again Everyone
