K@trom ban delayed
#41
It is a slippery slope, as we say in law, if one starts travelling down this road.

Its a natural substance. Let the people use it.

Further, let's follow all the scientific evidence and allow MMJ on the federal level.

It surely seems simple to me.

We are trying to make do with lower dosages of meds we have been prescribed for years. For legit reasons.

I don't know of any kratom based deaths or accidents or murders. Nor with MMJ.

Let the chronically ill decide for themselves as to natural products, for the love of God. (Because someday, all u politicians and agents will be sick. You will understand then all the horror and harm you are causing the good people of the US and UK.)

this is why I don't have much faith that US lawmakers will make rational decisions about kratom. MMJ is supported by 89% of voters (according to the most recent poll I can find) but congress still will not pass any laws at the federal level to respect the states decisions. 89% and they still ignore the will of the voters, so I doubt kratom will stand a chance. The percentage of the population that has even heard of it is probably in the single digits.

Do you think there will be an announcement about this soon? Or will they leave it to the next administration? I don't want to order if I just have to throw it away soon. It would be nice if they were more straightforward about this emergency scheduling stuff. Already one false alarm, and it could happen again anytime between tomorrow and never?

I have tried said herbal medicine many times (legally) and it didn't seem to have any effect on me whatsoever.

I can't understand why this is currently banned.

It's not banned yet. But the alkaloid content of the leaf, like any other pant, depends a lot on genetics, growing conditions, drying/storing, etc. Maybe you got weak batches? Or had high expectations? It isn't nearly as strong as vics or percs, so if you are expecting any euphoriic effects you'll probably be disappointed. It is an effective pain med for a lot of people though.

Well I just posted a new thread in legal issues about this. as of today it looks like big pharma has taken our God given plant away. Seems they will be putting it into a pill and hoping to market/tax it in the US. Sad, probably going to create more addicts or relapse. This is going to affect a lot of shipments I assume if the DEA gets this law passed. Seems they are going to, we will need vendors very soon!!

It was on the CBS news this morning. A teen boy somehow was using this for two yrs. He could not come off it. So, he ended his own life.

So "they" were all saying it is causing deaths. And, will be dealt with soon.

Unless people mixed something unnatural in the plant, I don't believe it directly killed anyone.

God help us. If people cannot eat dirt, to ease pain and be able to sleep, what are they supposed to do?

If the political party that you support is fixated on increasing <stupid> regulations it may be time to reconsider your allegiance.

I am not affiliated with any political party. Don't trust politicians, myself. We Irish just do not.

I am not sure why u directed this at me, lechter. I only enter the political area to stop fights.

Please don't quote me if you are not addressing me. My screen name shows up all over the place and there is no need for that to happen.

Sorry, Charon, the quote from your post was inappropriately placed... the message was intended for all.
