stocking up?

Good suggestions on treating your postman well. I drop a Christmas card in the box with a tip for him / her as well. I also run my snow blower past my mailbox in winter so they don't have to struggle with snow banks and, most importantly, I never, ever, park in front of the mailbox until the daily delivery is received!

I too live in an "extra" small town... There are actually appox 12 houses (but most of them (8) are across the county line in another county altogether So I qualify for living in a small town lol ...

As far as our postman, I made it a point to get to know the 2 of them when we got here and this past Christmas, I slipped him a card with a 20 in it and told him it's was cause I knew that all the "E-Bay" and "Amazon" pkgs I was getting was bound to be wearin on his nerves... Also they believe I put together computers and drones, so I'm always getting small boxes from everywhere

As a matter of fact, just last week as he handed my SO one of my pkgs, he told her that he could only wish that  everybody else on his route was as good as we were

I planned ahead and made friends with the folks that bring my pkgs to me first rattle out of the box and it's helped relieve some of the stress of dealing with them ...

I have to tell you that, that was a "smooth" move slipping the Postman a $20 and a card!! I'm sure, that'll you'll NEVER have any problems with having your mail delivered on time!! I'm beginning to think, that I quite possibly could learn quite a bit from you, Ice. Quite a bit, indeed!

That's very interesting about the mailman...I have always wondered if it were better to avoid them or to be interactive with them...I've tried to be vocally appreciative and friendly, but now we moved to a neighborhood where instead of a mailbox at the front door we have the big bank of po boxes down at the end of every street - I don't get to interact with him much anymore, but I find the increased anonymity actually a bit of a relief

I also tip the mailman $20 in a holiday card. I think it's a nice gesture.

Stocking up is a great idea. I had over 800 assorted benzos at one point. The trouble was I ate them all...

Stocking up would be nice and normal if one can afford to do so.

Please don't attempt to turn this thread into an OOPS, I DID IT AGAIN TYPE THREAD. Don't tell us u ate that many pills.

Methinks we are older and more professional than you.

We definitely do not joke about over usage of meds.

Right, Charon...I know that many people live pkg to pkg, have to stretch their meds out and suffer through...I don't mean to make light of that whatsoever/ I'm not wealthy by any stretch, but fortunately have enough to buy as needed for now...though my back injury seems to be getting worse and I fear for my ability to make a living and keep purchasing-sorta why I started the thread, to see how various people cope with the reality of things...

Hi 45ACP. I think stocking up is always a good idea. You never know when something completely out of our control could happen. How many vendors have all of us gone through bc they are gone without warning.  The holidays always slow things down, weather, and like you said, things in life can get in the way. So, my opinion is when you can, do it.

You nailed it with your comment! I agree, that if one has the means to stock-up, it would definitely be to their benefit to do so. Thanks, for sharing your advice/suggestions. I think, it would be a smart move for most members to consider/heed this advice.
