Does anyone live near a reservation ? Do they actually still have those in the US ? There used to be a small display in the library in the town where i grew up.
There were pics of some of the local wealthy mill owners visiting some tribe, there were also a small amount of Native American stuff, purses decorated with beads, some childs shoes as i remember, i always wondered how they got these things, later on in life as i got older i really wondered how they came about these things knowing the reality of what really went on, wish i knew which tribe it was with all the pictures of, was a fairly large looking reservation, lots and lots of tee-pees.
I remember reading somewhere about the blankets with small pox, they didnt stand much chance against the diseases the settlers brought with them, even a common cold could cause a lot of damage to them as they had never been exposed to the settlers viruses before.
Such a sad part of history.
