Depression is a physical illness ? ?
#5
Think someone else posted a thread about sugar causing pain to be worse when you have a lot in your diet, since I more or less stopped drinking beer ( still have it very occasionally) I have noticed I have gotten my sweet tooth back, usually just late at night so I'm not eating food with tons of sugar in it.

Not sure about anti-inflammantaries helping with depression, they might, I just don't know.

Its strange that my doc was talking about giving me an anti-depressant for pain, so we'd get something like ibuprofen for depression and anti depressants for pain, all topsy turvey kind of to me that.

Can't say that any of the anti-depressants I have been on over the years have helped with my pains, maybe its a certain type like amytriptaline like I was offered by my doc for nerve damage pain that are meant to help ?
I refused because I was once prescribed that for depression and it came with too many side effects for my liking so no way was I going to take it again, I think a lot of anti depressants esp long term use can cause illness, I have had several ailments the last few years that all seem to start after taking mirtazapine, so I have with my docs help, been tapering down, from 30mg am now down to 7.5mg, I will try to go totally without them at some time soon.

I do believe food diet has an effect on our minds and bodies, I think fish has a lot of good in it, esp for the mind and the moods, I just can't stand to eat fish, never have, I have been taking cod liver oil caps as regularly as I can remember to, I have noticed after taking for a while my mood is improved a bit, much more noticeable than any ADs I have had, thats not to say ADs can't be of help if a person is suffering from depression.

Some meat like turkey I was told are beneficial esp in those short days of cold and dark winter months.
