I have received fakes a couple of times, but the vendor replaced them right away. Some are very obvious and some were very good fakes. These "fakers" are gettin' pretty good at their trade, but if you have a legit one, check it next to one in question. Sometimes just a difference in the shape of a letter in the imprint can give it away, along with the weight.
It's gettin' harder to tell, but I'd be afraid to take ANYTHING in question until you know for sure. Who really knows what's in those fakes.
