Interesting article. There is lots more on the Koch brothers - once you've heard of them, you can go looking and see more. I've read in the past they are proud of being "the most important people you've never heard of" (I might be misquoting slightly, but that's close enough). The Cato Institute is also worth looking up. It is built on the ideas of Ayn Rand and promotes them in academic institutions where they might pay to install a professor who then advances Rand's ideology. There's a book called "Ayn Rand Nation" by Gary Weiss that I'm reading right now - hence the interest. Ayn Rand isn't so well known in the UK, but very big in the USA. Think Thatcher's "no such thing as society" on steroids. Rand believed charity was evil because it encouraged laziness.

Anyway, I'm sure lots of people will disagree with me strongly about Rand - and that's ok, we are adults, we can agree to disagree. But I think the Koch Bros are different because they work behind the scenes to influence society/politics - that's a matter of public record rather than just an opinion.
