Thanks so much for the support, everyone! I am really touched. It's so nice to feel like people care, even if I don't know them in person.
As for the trazodone question, I rarely take it now. For the most part, my baby sleeps through the night, but she is an early riser and occasionally wakes up from teething pain, so I can't be knocked out. Also, if she is having a bad teething day or sick, we co-sleep, and safety regulations for co-sleeping prohibit use of sleep medications.
Unfortunately, I got free consultations with several employment attorneys, and they say I really have no legal recourse. I'm in an at-will state. They have justification for eliminating my position ("business restructuring") and selecting me rather than the man (he has been with the company longer, even though I have documentation to show I produced nearly double what he did). It's likely he made less money than I did, as in order to lure me, they had to pay me over the top of my pay grade. The CEO is just a sexist pig, and my boss quit (because of him), with her last day being the day I left on maternity leave. Had she been there, I'm sure the other guy, and not I, would have been canned. They didn't even give me severance. those bastards. What I was told was that they can't rehire for my job for something like 18 months, or even have other employees take on my duties. I am still good friends with someone who works there and would frankly love to see the company get sued and the CEO canned, so she is looking out to see if anyone is taking on my responsibilities.
Sadly, Nickolyko, this happens more often than you would think. The US is horribly stingy on maternity leave, one of the stingiest in the world, and the protections for people who take it aren't great. No wonder the birth rate is dropping. Between that and the cost of childcare, it's damn near impossible for even solidly middle class people (if they still exist) to make ends meet.
Sorry for the rant. Again, I so appreciate everyone's kindness. To top things off, baby and I are sick with an upper respiratory infection going around, so I'm not having the best day. Seeing these posts was definitely the bright spot! It truly is a family here.
