True that, Popster - As a young man, monthly trips to Nuevo Laredo gave me 270 genuine Roche 10mg Valium (this was when they sold them in bottles of 90 tabs per bottle, and US Customs would let you simply show a prescription from a Mexican Doctor (Dentist, in my case - He wrote scripts for $10 while the Doc next door wanted $25), declare the meds, and walk back on across the bridge into Laredo without a care in the world. Hey, it was the 70's
I quickly discovered that two Vals were more fun than one, two Vals and a few Lone Stars were even MORE fun, and ultimately that my "sweet spot" was 4 Vals and a 6-pack of Lone Star. What I didn't know (hey, I was 17 years old) was the enormous half-life of Diazepam - So I was truly puzzled when I began to feel "buzzed" 24x7, and have difficulty staying awake in class. Eventually one of my cousins, much older than I was explained the sliding scale of half-lives to me, and it all made sense.
Per the benzo equivalency chart, Diazepam can have a half-life of up to 100 hours, and the metabolites can take up to 200 hours to clear. So if you're taking them every day, that dosage in your bloodstream is just building up, and building up...If you use large doses you could wind up with God only knows how many milligrams of the active ingredient floating around in your bloodstream.
Listen to Popster, and Google "benzo equivalency chart" - What you find there will no doubt shock some of you.
And be careful out there.
Best,
