LOL, our Russian Blue (or rather MY Russian Blue, cats are strange creatures, he seems to have adopted me immediately when we picked him up from Rescue years ago, and while he'll accept petting from my wife, he sits in my lap while I'm watching TV at night...Him on one side, and our Chihuahua on the other, while our Maine Coone sticks to my wife like glue and only tolerates me when I feed them their wet food a couple of nights a week) "sleeps" with me. The problem is, he doesn't stay asleep...Several times a night I wake up to him gently biting my nose or mashing his head against my face, demanding a few minutes of petting before he'll settle down again. He's a fairly old cat now, 10 years or so, so I don't have the heart to spray him with a water bottle or toss him off the bed, I just accede to his demands and he lets me go back to sleep.
Update to add: I have slept soundly for 7 hours straight the past two nights - While almost any Pharma grade Valium makes it easier for me to sleep, Bensedine, it seems, is what my body likes best. 10mg at 9PM and I'm sound asleep by 10PM. I'm going to have to ration it, of course, lest I build a tolerance...But for tough nights, I'm relieved to have finally found something that works.
