I am quite surprised the Supremes agreed on this. They never agree on anything so controversial.
They pass the buck.
However, we saw so many cases, where one partner was forbidden to see her other partner. Whilst she was dying in the hospital. The parents had the legal right to step in. And, to shut off life support where there were indications that the ill partner had normal movement in her brain.
That is unconscionable. The people you really love, and whom accept you as you are, should be allowed to remain your partner, especially when facing death.
I know the Bible. I know Churches. They will be up in arms, I reckon.
But, we saw such total injustice in refusing to allow a grown adult to decide for themselves. Through marriage, both people receive legal rights which we did not have to refuse them.
The so called Right to Lifers will be livid. But, it always bewildered me how the Right to Lifers, could also uphold the Death Penalty.
To my way of thinking, I am very glad that people who love and care for each other will receive equal rights as their so called "normal" peers.
Now, make MMJ legal. At least for chronically ill.
