Years ago--so much of what I write is from "years ago", ha--I contributed a piece to a magazine called "Relix". Relix still exist as a mag devoted to music in general, but twenty or so years back it was devoted exclusively to the Grateful Dead.
One of the sections of the then Relix was devoted to quoted letters to people who had received a life sentence for simple possession of marijuana, lots of them in Texas, though not exclusively. This is bad news to me. It is unfathomable, just as it was twenty or so years ago that a person could be sentenced to a life term for possession for private use. I was surprised to see this. It's disheartening. Â
