Paypal started sucking shortly after they got big. But they were the only game in town so people tolertated the abuse. But that is not the case anymore.

You can now pay on Ebay without paypal. Amazon has now started a similar service that I've heard is almost free. Google has a payment service and as mentioned Circle has used bitcoin to offer paypal services for free. Competition is good, and when the free market is allowed to operate unabated, increasing demands for goods and services will always bring about entrepreneurs with new, creative, and more efficient ways to meet them.

Now if we could just get the government out of the drug market. : )  I like to dream.

Just imagine how different the discussions on this site would be.

Paypal locked over 6k of my funds for a month one time due to suspicious activities. I had never used the account for anything other than purchasing/selling  mechanical parts, and other items pertaining to automotive and large equipment repair.
Within a years time they put three security holds on my account just as common protocol (protecting me). Almost every time I really needed the account to buy something important they would put me through a bunch of security BS.

I got rid of paypal and to this day will not do business with any vendor who will not accept credit cards, or wait for a mailed check.

Since then I have tried the google wallet which works beautifully, WU is fine, but I see bitcoin may be soon be integrated into my tutanota account which should be fantastic!

Government will always be where the money is no matter what happens. In the days of the Pinkertons,  the west should have  buried every one of them SOB.s that crossed the Mississippi river IMHO!
