kinda depressing.

i enjoy a bit of everything but im into my cult movies, documentaries, comedy and more recently anime
*shutter embarrasment*

netflix has been pumping out some solid flicks. TPark boys of course, also a lot of foreign stuff which is good...
unfortunately i have dyslexia so they can be hard for me to follow.
some good stuff from hollywood too; big shot and Terintino stuff...

honestly i love my classic adult swim; boondocks, robot chicken
a lot of animated stuff in general. The Simpsons will always have a soft spot in my heart

If anyone can recommend some good documentaries id appreciate it.
im into more domestic ones but will watch some discovery/ travel as well.

or good anime thats dubbed, besides cowboy bebop and ghost in a shell.

Great to see this thread thriving. altho it prove we probably watch too much tv lol

Larry

IDK I never could get into Netflix. I prefer Hulu.

And I was happy to get Sling to watch TWD. Negan is my fantasy man haha.

Hi Larry, like you I've seen about everything on Netflix, but always find something.

For Documentaries:  Werner Herzog

Werner Herzog is a German screenwriter, film director, author, actor, and opera director. Herzog is considered one of the greatest figures of the New German Cinema, along with Rainer Werner Fassbinder, ... Wikipedia

Anything by Werner.  He did more fiction in earlier days and created classics such as "Aguirre the Wrath of God".  Last twenty years or so he has made some of the best documentaries ever produced.  By his own admission, in interviews, he is cynical as regards the future of our human race, but his documentaries, like "Happy People" often look for the good in people.  He has a knack for picking out the most articulate people, in extreme conditions, to tell their story.  But, he'll do studies of anything interesting, like, "Cave of Forgotten Dreams".  He'll go down as one of the big ones of our time.

Quick update on TV shows OK so Black Sails final season premieres January 29. And better call Saul should premiere next month, but I do not have any solid specific date yet surprisingly. Finally homeland did some pops did start Sunday and like usual they have an amazing plot building and it's just incredible how well done that show is. OK anyone with any new show please share. I did start watching that show 100 on Netflix about the kids from space that get sent down after the apocalyptic situation, but I've only watch the first two episodes and I don't know although I must admit TV shows are so good nowadays, the bar is set high plus there is so much competition. Too bad our healthcare system wasn't as good Ha ha ha PS those who know me know I like to be silly at times or some friends argue all the time ha ha Ha and speaking of silly workaholics started it's last season last week unless Amazon gets in early but I'm pretty sure the first episode was last week so there should've been an episode today so I missed it doh

well, i cannot say its a favorite show. if it is a one hour show, i may like it if i see hope.

But, it's called my 600 lb life. I never realized we had so many in US living with this problem. And dying from same.

I don't understand that food can give one such comfort. Yes, life is hard, but to eat thirty thousand calories a day? I don't understand this.

She says it is due to stress and having a handicapped child. This is one case where maybe a valium a day would be far more impt to her life.

And, she went in for that gastric bypass surgery. The doctor said NO, unless u lose forty pounds in a month.

Oh, lord have mercy, I pray the poor woman gets this under control. Is it not possible to do a liquid diet?

So sad. This is one mental issue I have never studied. Where is richard simmons, whom helped these people, when u need him?

Ok, as to a favorite show, it is kinda still gold rush. But, in light of Todd hoffman and his crew losing money every week, and the way they pray so fake, i looked them up online.

Turns out tons of people are reporting that Jack Hoffman is a slum lord LL and is stealing monies. So is Todd.

From what had been his crew and closest friends.

I am getting to dislike this show more and more each time it airs. Ugh. The faker foo foo prayer was the first tip off to me. Others are infuriated that they pray to some God to give them gold. Hmmm.

One cannot lie to their friends. Yes, the IRS watches these shows. For ne'er do wells. But, I was amazed at how many former staunch supporters of this show have unequivocally stated that the Hoffmans are stealing money. That is why they count the take in secret.

I guess all reality shows are not reality at all. Fake. Pafooey. I had enjoyed watched the youngest, parker, grow up. But, since his grandpa died, he is a spoiled brat.

Ray Donavan, and Shameless on showtime, both amazing series! Favorite all time actual t.v. show would have to be "House". Hugh Laurie's character is amazing in that showSmile

Like you Charon, I like the program, but could never stand Todd Hoffman. I get soooo tired of him making promises of riches to his crew everywhere they go. Why his crew stuck with him for so long is puzzling to me.
Then there's the constant meetings and prayers. If they spent as much time actually mining as they do on their meetings, they just might find some gold.

My favorite is Parker. The kid is on the ball and does well. Was very sorry his grandpa passed tho.
I also like Tony Beets. That dude is crazy, but rich crazy LOL.
