Ultram Side Effects
#1
Is it Me? I had like the worst side effects from this med. It's like I became physically retarded, losing control of my physical movements. I had not taken this med before and thought it would be a good pk. Ordered from  a good source. So if anyone has experienced this too, please let me know so I won't feel so weird. Thanks!  Huh

Well I had to google SNRI and found it was a serotonin uptake inhibitor or anti-depressant. Which may explain a lot because I am on two anti-depressants this year since my partner died of cancer. And the dosage was 100mg and I weigh 115. So, mystery solved! Thanks everybody!

Excellent and fast sleuthing! Tram doesn't combine well with other Rx's, generally speaking from my experience. Something simpler may work for you, but always be careful combining Rx's -- ask your doctor or do lots of research first!

It is relative contradiction to take tram with other SSRI , since there is the risk of serotonin syndrome. It is rare but can happen. Tramadol is an analgesic medication with partial mu agonist activity and affects serotonin and norepinephrine. Toxicity from tramadol appears to be due to monoamine uptake inhibition rather than its opioid effects. It is relative safe as it is not causing so much respiratory depression as other opoioids. But there are common side effects less severe like those you describe when using tram with antidepressants. In addition recent reports claim increased side effects for Tram when combined with hydrocodone. But the real risk is seizures which is true when you go above 400 mg quick.

I got better information here than I did researching this drug from the websites drugs.com and webmd. They indicated that this drug was an opioid medication which it is not at all. I never would have ordered this if I knew  it was another antidepressant disguised as a pain reliever. Instead of pain relief, I got seratonin overload (I am taking two antidepressants) and muscle incordination that was awful. I am really thankful for this source for information.

Thanks for the reply and on to another google search for paracetamol which is called acetaminophen in USA. That certainly makes sense, but tramadol is just not for me at this time due to  seratonin build up.  Smile

Yes please be careful I had a bad experience taking too much SSR/NI including this one. Pain actually causes my depression it's secondary ...so tr@m replaced the others I was on. I have a condition which calls for pain management somewhat depending on the flare ups. I got super dizzy and ended up in the er anyway and realized I had three meds trying to do the same thing. So I had to eliminate a few. Best of luck to you!

I had no idea trams could cause such issues. I've never taken them, I made the mistake of starting on very strong opiates. So I've always viewed trams as being not much more than an Advil. Not to be rude or insult anyone who uses them, I just always viewed them as weak or almost harmless.
Was recently thinking of trying them, as I don't wanna use the stronger ones. I'll have to do some reading and decide if it's even worth it. I've read they can lower seizure threshold and now I'm wondering if someone who's been on Diaz for over a decade like myself should even mess with it.
Does anyone here use a bz regularly and use trams for pain as needed?

It's an SNRI as well as a pain med.

Which means when u do try to go off, the people experience unbelievable depression. I used to read that if one starts using xanax, one will never stop. i guess due to the withdrawal which can last for months. But, I have heard that withdrawal from tramadols is a big issue.

You already know you have an addictive personality. In the beginning, these pills might make you feel better. And, many thought they were harmless. But, they are an absolute bitch to withdraw from.

Yes, they can cause seizures. And, once one has a seizure, one is prone to seizures forever.

I never tried this medicine. But, I have read the posts and PMs of many whom have tried this.

It is a difficult medicine to become free from.

It is not as harmless as Big Pharma promised.
