Ginger is really good for nausea, go into Holland and Barrets and ask their advice, they gave some giner options, i took them all so I can't say which one was the best.

If nausea is really bad you can get stemitil ( don't know the generic name) but it is by prescription only. i don't think you can walk into a chemist and ask for nausea tablets as when i did my pharmacist asked if there is any possibility of pregnancy and when i said NO, he said they don't sell things OTC for nausea.

My mum swears by flat 7 up for stomach upsets, i drink it as well, but \I think it is more psychological then beneficial . so umm try Ginger, hope you feel better soon.

we used to take coke syrup, aka cola syrup, when we were nauseated.

it was OTC in drugstores. It is what u make coke soda with.

Ginger ale may help.

Feel better GE.

True that you cant get otc stuff for nausea any more, asked my dr and was told she wont prescribe anything due to side eefects of them, yesterday i had 2 peppermint capsules ,one with lunch, one with evening meal plus had small cup of peppermint tea with honey,I dont feel half as bad today, dont know if its the peppermint,am going to try and remember to take the same today and see how i feel, hunger makes it worse, then it gets hard to eat, could be far worse ,thanks for the advice YD and Charon, will have a look in Holland and Barratt when i can.

I was prescribed things for nausea, the med they give me was a tiny amount of an oold fashioned anti psychotic, one day I could not stop throwing up so I took far more than what I was prescribed the side effects were awful.  As long as you don't do something as silly as I did, taking one stemitil does not really have any effects, it is only when you take too many.

Camomile and honey is also helping quell the nausea along with the peppermint caps and drinks, wish i would have tried these a lot earlier instead of just putting up with it for months, appetite is a little better as well last few days so things have improved a little so far.Smile

I found that drinking at least 2 to 3 glasses of water as soon as I wake up has helped ease my IBS, and has made me feel more healthier in general.

But it is really important that you do so first thing and on an empty stomach when you wake up.  Also important is that you need to wait for at least half-an-hour(1 hr is better if you can), before you do anything else like eating breakfast/drinking coffee+tea etc, even before you brush your teeth, this allows the water to cleanse your system through.

It really has helped with my IBS!

It also reportedly has many other benefits too! If you look it up on the web it explains what, why and how it helps IBS exactly. but it really does work I promise!

Hope that is of some help...
