Does anyone use Hima*layan Salt Lamps?

Reading up on blog I follow and they recommend them for mood and air quality.

Wondering if any of y'all use them and how the results were.

Hi Pine,

Got a few Himalayan salt product stalls here in AZ  where I am living.  Lamps, etc.  I'm not a believer, in anything in particular.  Was a lurker during the "Human Potential Movement" of the 90s.  Lots of Himalayan salt stuff then.  I was on Mr. Shasta the day of the "Harmonic Covergence", one of the power spots.  Didn't feel anything, but I was open to the idea.

Anyway, not the lamp, but did buy a small jar of the salt "scrub".  Just rinse your hands, take half a teaspoon and exfoliate by rubbing hands together or elbows, or knees, or wherever you feel like you can take it, ha.  It was free trial as I walked by, didn't give all the directions. I'd almost exfoliated the skin on my hands down to the bone I think before the lady stopped me, and had me rinse, then you just keep rubbing for a silky smooth finish.

Now the lamps and other salt formations there made the more esoteric claims.  I didn't get one cause they are kind of expensive, I don't have room, and have tried most types of semi-precious stone placement to suck the essential universal goodness from the air into your being.  But, as the Boss says, I dunno.  They are very interesting to look at and can't hurt.  The scrub is good though, comes in different smells.

I have one in my office.

Like the way it looks.

Don't make me feel no better... don't make me feel no worse.

YMMV

Sorry to sort of revive an older thread, but I'm curious. I've read some really nasty stuff about these lamps being awful for cats- do any of you folks that have a salt lamp have a cat? Has it caused any problems?

Truthfully, I can't find anything on what exactly they're supposed to DO, but people swear by them to do... some...thing... plus, they look super neat.

Listen, i am not big on regular news. but i caught a news clip wherein they warned that these little items could be doing one more harm than good.

so, maybe google it. it was one of those supposed teasers so that i would watch the news further. no time for the results.

just check it out cuz i instantly thought of the thread we had on here. Just google whatever the heck they are protecting us from now.

i just posted above u, that i don't have time to look this up. i have no salt lamp and i find it hard to believe that having one will seriously damage any member of this forum. elsewise, i would look it up.

but, in general, we don't spoon feed here. You gotta read.

Many of us have put hours and hours of work into providing information of all types in this forum. You, however, must seek and find.

But, when I say I did not research this, I suggest that u guys do if u all have a salt lamp, then, in all probability i mean exactly that. You got one? Could u please research same? And therein will be another post for u.

Have a glorious night.

Anyone hear about salt therapy? Someone was telling me about it on Friday, so I googled. It really is a thing. You go and sit in a room for 45 minutes and it is supposedly good for respiratory conditions, skin conditions and almost everything you can imagine, including, overall well being.
I know that when I lived closer to the ocean and had opportunities to enjoy it, I always felt good after. My sometimes looney father believed that if you felt like you were coming down with a cold, you should go to the beach, sit in the sun and go in the ocean. Maybe he knew something the rest of us didn't. Certainly beats antibiotics!!!!!!! ;-) Rumor

pretty sure the Dead Sea salt allegedly has therapeutic values. Interesting.

So, tomorrow, if all goes well, i may have researched this.

Have a good nite, rumor. *our parents knew many important things in this life.*
