Gallant made the statment in a Monday broadcast to Israeli television. Israel is in the 38th day of its war against Hamas, and its ground assault in Gaza has lasted for roughly two weeks. While Gallant says Hamas' control over the region has been removed, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel will not stop until the terrorist organization is "destroyed." “Hamas has lost control of Gaza. Terrorists are fleeing southward. Civilians are looting Hamas bases,” he said. “They don’t have faith in the government anymore." "There is no power that Hamas has capable of stopping the IDF. The IDF is advancing to every point," he added. Israel has yet to release images of the looting Gallant referenced, however, as it has done for many incidents since Hamas' Oct. 7 massacre. Kirby says Biden has been very clear and very consistent about the rise of "hate, and particularly antisemitism" in the U.S. "We've got to do better. We've got to be better," Kirby said, adding that he had been horrified at stories of what Jewish students are going through at college campuses in the U.S. "I don't disagree that we've got to do more. We know that, and the president is focused on that very, very seriously." Yingst says Hamas is using timers to launch rockets belatedly from land they have lost to encroaching Israeli forces. Hamas also has a labyrinth of hundreds of miles of tunnels underground in Gaza. "Hamas and the Islamic Jihad have rockets that are set on times. They have rockets that they set in the past and they can remotely activate them and they can fire on population centers. So even if there are not militants in the area, they are able to fire on Israel," Yingst said. Israel's war on Hamas is nearing the end of its 38th day. Israeli leaders have vowed to destroy Hamas before the end of the conflict, rejecting calls for a cease-fire. Hauer said that the voice of the Jewish people and the voice of Israel is a "voice of peace." He argued that everything Israel is doing in Gaza is "done to save." Moshe rejected the claim that Israel must "turn the other cheek" when faced with violence from Hamas, however. "We won't turn the other cheek when faced with evil," he said. "If we turn the other cheek then they are here, and then they will destroy everywhere in the world. It is not a value of ours to do that against an active threat." "Against a personal insult, we can turn the other cheek. Against something which will then encroach, threaten and do what they did on October 7--unspeakable acts of brutality--we have to stand and we have to stand firm and we have to stand strong, and we have no hesitation about that as people of faith," he added. Hamas has accused the Israeli military of attacking civilians in and around the Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, though Israel has said it is only targeting the Hamas headquarters it says is located beneath the facility. While Hamas denies using Shifa and other hospitals as shields, the Israeli Defense Forces released footage of a Hamas terrorist wielding an RPG at the entrance of the Al-Quds hospital in northern Gaza on Monday. The IDF says the terrorist fired the RPG at nearby Israeli forces. Following an earlier Politico report on the topic, Axios reported that it obtained a "scathing" memo that was signed by 100 State Department and USAID employees that suggested Biden’s continued support of Israel has made him "complicit in genocide" as the Jewish state continues to retaliate after Hamas killed at least 1,400 civilians during the Oct. 7 terror attack. "Some of the memo's language echoes that of progressive activists in the U.S., whose anger and protests over Biden's handling of the war have rippled through the Democratic Party — and created a new challenge for the president's 2024 campaign," Axios reported. The memo does not offer specific examples of what "misinformation" Biden has helped spread, according to the report. Hamas kidnapped hundreds of civilians, including children and the elderly, during the Oct. 7 terror attack. The memo recommended that the U.S. government advocate for the release of the hostages, but lumped in "thousands" of Palestinians it claimed are being held in Israel. MIT President Sally Kornbluth said in a statement Nov. 9 that the school would merely suspend students who participated in the disruptive protest from non-academic campus activities to avoid "collateral consequences for the students, such as visa issues." One day earlier, the Coalition Against Apartheid, a pro-Palestinian student group, conducted a large protest that Kornbluth confirmed defied MIT policies governing student actions. "In late morning, the face-to-face confrontation between the protesters and counterprotesters intensified," Kornbluth said. "We had serious concerns that it could lead to violence. To prevent further escalation and protect the physical safety of everyone present – including both student protesters and passers-by in our busiest lobby — the administration felt it was essential to take action." "The students will remain enrolled at MIT and will be able to attend academic classes and labs," she continued, noting some of the protesters' "visa issues." "We will refer this interim action to the Ad Hoc Complaint Response Team, which includes the chair of the Committee on Discipline, for final adjudication." Yingst said the death toll for Israeli Defense Forces operating in Gaza has risen to 42 amid the intense fighting. The IDF has surrounded the Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, the region's largest population center. The IDF says Hamas has placed its headquarters underneath the facility, a claim Hamas denies. IDF Spokesman Daniel Hagari said the firing led to a brief battle between Israeli forces and Hamas, resulting in IDF soldiers killing 21 targets. Hagari said the RPG launch came from a pair of Hamas terrorists who had hidden among civilains near the Al-Quds hospital. "During an operation by the 188th TDF, an RPG and an anti-tank missile were fired at an IDF force from the entrance to the Al-Quds hospital in Gaza city," Hagari wrote on Monday. Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds force commander Esmail Ghaani has been shuttling to Lebanon and other locations, holding meetings, hoping to whip up more mayhem. And Iran would love to elbow the U.S. military out of the Middle East and fulfill its dreams of regional hegemony. Don’t count on it. Iran holds a losing hand. Iran’s military options are limited, the economy is a shambles, and behind the scenes, a lot of governments in the region want to contain Iran. The aftermath of the Gaza crisis will leave Iran worse off than before. Here’s why. Iran has stuffed the region with enough missiles to overtax Israel’s Iron Dome missile defenses. As national security adviser Jake Sullivan said, Iran plays the "sustained, deep and dark role in providing all of this support and capabilities to Hamas." The IRGC arms, funds and trains militias in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, the West Bank and of course Gaza. Yet for all the time and money spent, Iran’s proxies can’t overmatch U.S. deterrent forces... Macron reportedly told Herzog that he had not meant to accuse Israel of intentionally bombing children and elderly people in his Friday statement calling for a cease-fire. Macron was the first major Western leader to call for Israel to halt its war against Hamas, but he once again told Herzog he believes Israel has a right to defend itself. The IRGC stations are located in the Syrian cities of Abu Kamal and Mayadin, according to Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin.
