Petition for Mandatory Testing for Sepsis - Charon - 10-28-2020 URL: hxxps://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/establish-mandatory-sepsis-protocols-all-healthcare-facilities-and-declare-september-national-sepsis-awareness-month-2 It is a far bigger concern than we knew. One can die from sepsis within 24 hours. Each hour it is left untreated reduces one's chance of living by 8%. It is showing up due to covid. And due to anything such as a sinus infection. Your immune system, if compromised, goes into overload to fight the infection. One needs the ER STAT. For anti bacterials and IV fluids. And more. We The People SIGN A PETITION Your Voice in the White House tagline WE THE PEOPLE ASK THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO CALL ON CONGRESS TO ACT ON AN ISSUE: Establish mandatory sepsis protocols in all healthcare facilities and declare September National Sepsis Awareness month Created by L.B. on October 25, 2020 Sepsis kills over 270,000 Americans every year and accounts for 13, 870 amputations every year. It's the 3rd leading cause of death for adults and the 1st leading cause for children. Sepsis has been named as the most expensive in-patient cost in American hospitals in 2014 averaging more than $18,000 per hospital stay. With over 1.5 million sepsis hospital stays in 2014 per year, that works out to costs of $27 billion each year. Studies investigating survival have reported slightly different numbers, but it appears that on average, approximately 30% of patients diagnosed with severe sepsis do not survive. Up to 50% of survivors suffer from post-sepsis syndrome. Until a cure for sepsis is found, early detection is the surest hope for survival and limiting disability for survivor RE: Petition for Mandatory Testing for Sepsis - Charon - 10-28-2020 Please be mindful of this. Sepsis does not need covid to rear its ugly head. One just needs an infection somewhere in one's body. A dental abcess will suffice. If it spreads as it does, one starts to have tremendous trembling. Each hour past that trembling, reduce the body's chances of living by eight per cent. Many have not gotten dental care during this pandemic. If anyone has a splitting headache and an abcessed tooth, and God help you, if you start unstoppable tremors, seek an ER immediately. Unless God intervenes, one can be dead with 24 hours from sepsis. I promised the head of Sepsis alliance to share this. And I have personal reasons now also. God help us all. |
