Shipping Question - equinoxa66 - 07-21-2017

Hi there everyone i'm new to the board and doing a lot of reading and finding out what is allowed and what is not.  This question is rather vague not about anyone in particular or anything like that but if it is not allowed admin please just delete the whole thread.  Since it can take all kinds of time all over the board to get your mail from a week to 3 months or more.  The first time with one place I had very good luck with a 2 week turn around and I paid extra for express shipping, this this time I paid for express again and it is going on 3 weeks.  Does anyone think it is worth it to pay extra for express if you get tracking or not since the same vendor can't control anything once it's out of their hands.  I'm very interested to hear people and their opinions on this if it is allowed, thank you and have a good day.

Sure this is allowed. Please don't mention vendor names or countries of origin if we will guess. k?

But, some say don't use express shipping as that can draw more attention to one by customs.

Others use it all the time.

I think quite a few vendors have had a problematic last few months due to certain pre arranged raids. LE.

Many of us had longer waits with vendors that never had problems before. And, for many, this is a yearly problem.

Others will answer. Good luck. Hope you receive soon.

equinoxa66:

Welcome to the forum! My recollection from reading posts here on the IOPList is that express mail parcels tend to attract greater scrutiny by customs as opposed to mail delivered by conventional international airmail. The latter form of mail is delivered in much greater volume and screening every piece of mail shipped by this method is beyond the means of most postal services.

I personally have never utilized an express mail method of shipping on any order I have ever placed. My recommendation is to maintain a low profile, order with shipping by conventional means, and be prepared ahead of time to deal with delays in the delivery of your medication.

I used an express mail service a few times in the past and both times it took 2 weeks.
However using an overnight service or next day mail is the way to go if they offer that.

Raven is correct. Stay under the radar as much as possible. I have used express a couple of times, not worth the cost or anxiety IMO anyhow.

Does the size of your Order matter? What I am asking is it better to place more small orders?  I see there are usually shipping charges and often discounts for
larger orders but if they are snatched what good are they? Confused

Have used both and have had 1 snagged, and have had to wait longer times then expected, all above is great info, kinda like stocks you need to diversify your portfolio.

Great answer Skipper. The consequences of being caught with a large order will be bad news if you get involved in a controlled delivery by LE for what ever reason (although these are almost never reported here, I'm guessing that controlled deliveries mostly happen to people with a record and/or people who already have the attention of LE). Also, keep in mind that a truly "large" order is going to be broken up into a number of deliveries by the vendor anyway. They don't want the attention any more than you do.

There are other factors coming into play here too Tigertail. For instance, I live in a small town and, if I'm getting lots of letters from far away places, eventually my mailman is going to start to get curious. Fortunately, I use two delivery addresses to receive, so it is typically several months before each PO I use see another letter with funny looking stamps being delivered to me. This may not be as critical in a large urban area where your mail could be delivered by a different postal carrier on any given day, or if your mail is delivered to a box and face time is rare.

Finally, tryin333 states one of the rules that everyone should take heed of, and follow (I have always used it) "never make an order for more than you can afford to lose".

Good Luck Tiger and Welcome to the IOPList

The funny looking stamps is something I've never thought about.  The IOP I use has some interesting stamps, I wonder if my postie know what they are when they come through?
