Canadian Seizures - nick_stokes - 08-26-2016 Hi folks. I've had more no-shows this summer than in the last five years combined! I know there was an international op focused on IOP's in June but it seems like CBSA (aka customs) is really cracking down lately. CBSA is known as being pretty efficient but this is getting ridiculous. I'm just trying to figure out if it's just me, or, if anyone else in the Great White North is experiencing difficulties receiving magazines? If this thread contravenes the forum rules, I apologize. NS RE: Canadian Seizures - Charon - 08-26-2016 Pretty sure we have a thread about customs in Australia, which was difficult to begin with, was cracking down even more. Not sure if you are aware that many of us, and i mean many of us, in USA, suffered for months because of some crackdown in certain countries of origin. I thought I read of new crackdowns in re: UK but I shall let our UK members tell us that. Or, if i see the posts, I shall link that thread to here. This is fine for the thread. Good luck. NSI've had one LL and one no show. RE: Canadian Seizures - nick_stokes - 08-29-2016 Thanks for the info, buttons27. Hopefully things cool down a bit over the next little while. Thank god customs is there to save us from ourselves.
RE: Canadian Seizures - bonji11 - 08-29-2016 I am from canada and have had serious issues with delivery, I have had to go try a new vendor and the vendor i have been using I have to pay for a reshipper to re ship via USA. That seems to work, but is expensive. any other questions please let me know glad to help Fellow Canuck RE: Canadian Seizures - bry686 - 08-31-2016 I know exactly what you mean! I'm a fellow canuck, and before this summer I went 20 f 20. Then in July I had 2 packs seized with LL's. Then on the re-ship it's now been 4 weeks and counting and nothing! I even used to different name and address on the re-ship. So ya I think it's possible they may be aware of a certain style of envelope or country that their no keeping an eye out for. Like Bonjii, you can always pm me I you want to know anything else. It's nice to have some fellow Canucks looking out for each other here

The LL was very pleasant suggesting I get a refund. Laughed my head off. The package was return to sender (I am sure the vendor is laughing to since 2 out of the 3 items were missing) Least our Postal System settled.
RE: Canadian Seizures - relaxme - 09-01-2016 For what I read online, Canada and Australian customers are the worst, many don´t delivery on this countries cause this. After 1 seizure (with LL) and 2 no-shows, including a reship for the confirmed seizure, I recently had a successful delivery from ttm. I used the same name and mailing address so, IMO, it doesn't appear that they "flag" names and/or addresses....unless you've been caught trying to import a huge amount, obviously. If you used a different name and address and it still never made it, this kind of validates my sentiments; customs is definitely watching certain countries of origin and certain types of small packages or packaging methods. RE: Canadian Seizures - Jvancouver - 09-16-2016 Hello, fellow Canadian here. I've never lost a package to customs but about four years ago my IOP started to refuse to ship to Canada so I started have my packages shipped to a US address. I'm lucky to live very close US and have yet have any problems with customs. I don't order very often or in large quantities but I guess it's luck of the draw. Lots of US border town have parcel receiving businesses so if you live close to the US maybe give one a try. |
