Location Disclosure (Need Clarification) - kobe24 - 02-02-2016
Hello! I have received mixed answers from several members, some telling me that I can reveal my location in my country, and others saying that I cannot.
Could an admin please clarify? I know what the rules say, but a lot of people are "assuring" me it's fine.Â

It's my understanding that the Country of Origin cannot be discussed..... Meaning the country shippin it to you, not where it winds up...

Hi Kobe,
I'm no admin, but I usually offer my general location in IOP list threads, and have never have never been warned about it. I see others do the same to give members some idea of magazine subscription travel times. I don't know about mentioning your country, but think I've seen that also offered in a general way. Check the thread histories to get an idea of what I mean. I'm located on the upper left coast of Trump/Hillary land. Anything more specific would be to no ones advantage. I think once you or I reach 50 posts then we can pm and more detailed information could be exchanged?

Thank you very much for the reply!! And thanks everyone else. So NO mention of origin of package (shipper), but writing, for example "West Coast US" is okay? Just didn't want to step on any toes as a newbie! Thanks again.

Oh yea.... I don't see where info like that would be any problem as no one can actually 'pinpoint" an exact location... We don't want to make it extra easy for anyone to do that...
By mentioning where our pkgs "orininate" posses to problem that gives to much info for someone trying to cause greif to our suppliers (always do that by PM or email) ...
It's like I'm in Ohio, now there are a few towns/cities here so no way to pinpoint where exactally where in Ohio I actually recieve mail... And there are other that recieve mail in this state as well ... Kinda don't give anyone much to work with....
I hope this makes a little sense.... I know what I mean, but sometimes I don't convey it where I make much sense

Don't ever let you IP out... although I am quite guilty much of the time
I can pinpoint someone down to their house with an some IP numbers...
