Amazon openly sold tylenol #3 for a tad bit.  Then, PETA, for reasons unknown, broke into labs supplying amazon. and replaced the codeine with seroquel.  That could kill someone elderly or with dementia or on certain meds.  So PEtA fecked that up for all.

When u deal with an open format, like EBAy, yes, people make offers. They can be scammers and they could be Law. The first place attorneys are taught to get info on a person is to check their social media. LE reads online all the time.  They even put out warnings that they are omnipresent now as this virus is bringing criminals online earlier and worse than usual.

I was also wondering about mandatory requirements. I have seen you reference needing to make 50 posts in on-topic areas within 100 days, or else getting your account deactivated. For example, in the Important Announcements thread https://www.ioplist.org/showthread.php?tid=12&pid=43379#pid43379 and also in other posts of the forum, such as https://www.ioplist.org/showthread.php?tid=3966&pid=88849#pid88849

This isn't listed in the Board Rules thread though https://www.ioplist.org/showthread.php?tid=1 So, is it just an old rule or something?

Not sure whether you have heard the term before, but RCs were exactly that, ch3ms intended for research only by lab professionals that existed in a legal grey area. Companies managed to sell them openly, and avoiding prosecution, by marking them with the label "Not for human consumption" . Obviously the users did just that, but they managed to get hold of them via a legal loophole. Some were sold under the "intention" that they were to be used as other things, such as incense and b@th s@lts.

As Charon has also advised, many really good people died as a result of an open market of incredibly powerful dr*gs. At one point, there might have been a dozen new subst@nc3s being released per week. And as they were untested on humans, until people into RCs purchased them, there was obviously no data how safe or how dangerous any given ch3m1cal was , and the users became the guinea pigs for testing these subst@nc3s out.

My personal history with RCs mainly involved the use of b3nz0d1@zep1nes that were being sold through these sites. Some were old b3nz0s discovered by pharm@ceut1cal companies years before but just never made it to market, and some were completely new b3nz0s.

The majority of the deaths involved increasingly powerful st1mul@nts that were being released, to which many good people became add1ct3d. And as you may have already guessed, as there were no prior human testing, in many cases doctors were helpless because they had no prior data to refer to on how to deal with add1cti0n to these completely new, very complex, set of subst@nc3s.

Many countries changed their laws and banned RCs altogether, others tightened up their regulations, and some carried on as they were. But yes, the point is, the world was going through a somewhat underground pandemic in which people were being k1lled, injured or becoming @dd1ct3d to increasingly dangerous untested subst@nc3s.

I hope this sums it up for you and hopefully you will have gained some insight into what some newspapers were comparing to the Wild West of days gone by.

You did right by asking though - if there's something you're not sure about, don't be afraid to ask questions. That's how you learn things, and the more you speak to someone, the more familiar you will become with them. It's a friendly site.

I was involved in the RC scene between 2009 and 2016 when our government banned the use of P$ych0@ctive subst@nc3s, but the scene was already going strong before that too. It had been an underground scene for quite some time, but thanks to the internet it became hugely popular.

If you can do it, here's how to do it:

Right at the bottom of the post in question, on the same line where you get the options for Reply, Quote, Report and Warn (on the right hand side), on that very same line, but on the left hand side, there are options for PM (which I know for a fact you can't do until 50 posts), Find, and Rate.

If you want to rate anyone's posts, simply click on 'Rate' and choose whether it's positive, neutral or negative, then add any comments if you want to.

Like I say though, I'm not sure if this ability comes at 50 posts just like the PM ability.
