RE: About tracking and signing... - Kdizz - 02-21-2016 Nice catch I going to check that out thanks for thr info RE: About tracking and signing... - Double Deuces - 02-21-2016 I have my preferences set so that I get email updates each time my letter is scanned in a new location. No need to keep checking on the status, and as Ice mentioned I doubt they are keeping track of how often youre tracking your letters. -DD RE: About tracking and signing... - MaltoseFalcon - 02-22-2016 (02-12-2016, 12:04 AM)Stripers Wrote: Text message would be really convenient but not sure I want to give USPS my digits. If the government truly wanted your digits, they'd already have them.  They have bigger issues to deal with than a few random people such as ourselves. RE: About tracking and signing... - BoomerB - 02-22-2016 Let me tell u a story. I received something for my friend, it came in 4 pieces. 1 was shredded due to a poor quality envelope, it came with an apology and an application to try and locate the contents. 2 and 3 (2-3-4 were to be picked up the same day) were found, but the postal guy couldn't fond number 3. The next day he calls me on my unlisted burner phone that was certainly never provided to the is gov't. He said my package was ready. I abandoned it. Now usps is only supposed to hold that type of package for 14 days. They spent 6 months sending a pinkie every few weeks, trying to get me down there. A few weeks ago i bought an anime toy from japan, couldn't get there in 2 weeks- it went right back to sender. Paranoid? Well they had my top secret phone- why not call the number associated with the property? THAT one is in the phone book. And why keep the package 6 months when SOP is 2 weeks. Too many coincidences for me thank u very much. RE: About tracking and signing... - MaltoseFalcon - 02-22-2016 Boomer, it sounds like your situation is a bit different than the average patient. But still good wisdom. Thanks for sharing that with us. RE: About tracking and signing... - BoomerB - 02-22-2016 I'm walking a fine line, i already screwed up once today. But i had to share the fact that the po is not above shady tactics ... Even if they got my phone from using it to track, thats national- no reason for the local office to have that number. RE: About tracking and signing... - G.Elias - 02-22-2016 Never ceases to amaze me the amount of people calling me who get hold of my number some way, maybe you might have forgotten and given your burner number to someone, its easy to forget reading what you been going through recently. If you used it to track thats prob it,everything gets linked up quick now, national prob gave it your local, thats the way of the world sadly now, wait til we all have a card instead of cash, already doing it for the unemployed in Australia and some other places, glorified foodstamps, they want all the info they can about you, where you shop, what you buy,how many times you buy gas, every detail to see how they can make money from you,its coming, prob sooner than we think.Massive financial meltdown is getting nearer according to many economists, perfect time to become cashless societies. They are far from finished with us yet. RE: About tracking and signing... - BoomerB - 02-23-2016 They tell me i have out too many thumbs but i'll get u tomorrow tommy. RE: About tracking and signing... - Double Deuces - 02-23-2016 No offense or anything but the postal service can barely get mail delivered ON TIME. I doubt they have the money, manpower, or resources to do some of the things that are claimed. Many people are doing much worse things that require a much greater amount of the governments attention. In addition, many people have been doing this for years with no issue. Everyone's experiences are different though so thanks everyone for sharing. RE: About tracking and signing... - BoomerB - 02-23-2016 You're right 99% of the stuff running thru the system, but you are honesstly saying that if this was you you wouldn't worry a LITTLE? My smalltown pd would call this the international smuggling case of the century. A. 1 of 4 packages breaks open, i receive nothing but an envelope. B. The following day i get called on a cell phone not in my name and never provided to pick package up C. They hold the package 6 months when the policy is 14 days, and i have proof that in any normal case they do only wait 2 weeks. Every few weeks i get another pinkie. Any one of those is no problem. 2 i might joke about it. But all 3 is enough to make me consider the consequences, and the worst possible outcome is a helluva lot worse than losing a couple hundred pins. |
