Golden Retriever Saves Boy from Cougar

That day started as usual for a 11-year-old boy from Canada. He went to his backyard with his best friend, Golden Retriever named Angel to get some firewood. While collecting firewood, he noticed something that wasn't as usual - Angel was acting weirdly, sniffing the air and letting out low growls. Before he managed to turn around, he was pounced by a cougar. While cougar was still in mid-flight, Angel ran in front of the boy, absorbing the hit and then started the desperate fight to defend his 11 years old buddy. Luckily, there was a police constable nearby who shot the cougar few minutes into the fight and saved little boy and his dog. Aftermath of that conflict for two friends was pretty amazing, considering what they had gone through. The boy was unharmed while Angel had several pretty deep injuries and bite marks. Veterinarian who took care of him said that it was perfect timing for policeman to show up, because otherwise cougar would make quick work of Angel.

Another great story Char. The reason I trust my pups to have my back more than many people I know.
Pets are as close to angels on earth to me. Especially dogs, but I've always been a dog person. I luv ALL animals, but have a special connection and bond of trust with my pups. Dog spelled backwards is God. Coincidence?? Hum....

Awesome. I saw them on news for a moment, and thought how helpful to many they could be.

What a good deed.

I really enjoyed this one willie. It's a real good story. I have often talked about helping out at our animal shelter. I would love to do that but I know myself. I would find it so hard to resist adog in need, I can see myself with more than 1 or 2. When my boys were growing up , we had 6 dogs at one time. All except for one were shelter dogs.

I only have one dog left. He was my mom's dog when she was alive & I took over keeping Puddin when she passed away.

Puddin is a little/5lbs Maltese. He is not particularly the kind of dog that I would choose for myself. But my mom loved him & I feel the sameway about the little fella.

I am not sure if you all recall that last Christmas morning my best friend, a 15lb mixed breed terrier, named Buddy died unexpectedly. He was only 8 years old & I still feel shock over how fast he got sick & died.

I feel that I am ready for another dog now. It will be good for Puddin to have some companionship. The pup will have to be on the small size whengrown since Puddin isonly 5lbs. A bigger dog could hurt Puddin without meaning to.

So I am on the lookout for a dog preferably on the smaller size yet sturdier than Puddin is.
